Vietnam: Dragons And River Vistas

ree

On a misty evening in Hoi An, lanterns drift along the waterway and reflected light shimmers on ancient city walls – a scene that captures Vietnam’s enduring allure. This long, tropical country spans from the subtropical north (with its cool winters and warm summers) to the tropical south. The northern region sees four seasons, whereas central and southern Vietnam have a classic monsoon rhythm: wet summers and dry winters.

Cruise the jade karsts of Halong Bay at sunrise, cycle past golden temples and coconut palms in the Mekong, or hike the misty Sapa rice fields at dawn. In Hanoi’s Old Quarter, sip egg coffee from a plastic chair on the sidewalk; in Hue, float down the Perfume River past hilltop citadels. Every meal – from street-grilled skewers to elegant French-Vietnamese fusion – tells a story of culture and resilience.
