Taiwan - Mountain Ridges and Lantern-Lit Nights

Taiwan’s terrain is rugged: the central spine of mountains rises steeply, the eastern coast drops to the sea, and the west is flatter and urbanized. The climate is subtropical to tropical; typhoons may strike in summer.
In Taipei, you’ll find night markets, skyscrapers, and hot springs. On the east coast, cliffs plunge into the Pacific, and the Alishan forest railway climbs misty ridges. Aborigine cultures, tea plantations, coastal fishing villages, and modern urbanism all meet here. Travel might include hiking the Taroko Gorge, cycling around Sun Moon Lake, or releasing sky lanterns in Pingxi. Taiwan balances a rich nature and lively culture.
