Philippines: Tropical Seas and Fiesta Shores

ree

Sugar-white sands and jade-blue lagoons reveal why Palawan and Boracay sparkle on every bucket list. The Philippines’ 7,000+ islands span the deep tropics. Its climate is tropical maritime: humid and hot year-round, with a wet southwest monsoon (June–October) and a drier northeast season (November–May). Typhoons often roar in from June to December, drenching some islands and leaving others comparatively calm. No matter where you roam, lush jungles and turquoise bays are never far away.

The adventures in the Philippines are as varied as its thousands of beaches. Snorkel at Tubbataha Reef or dive with thresher sharks off Malapascua. Paddle through limestone karsts and emerald lakes in El Nido, or hike steep rice terraces in Banaue. Surf breaks in Siargao, kayak mangroves in Palawan, or ride jeepneys on mountain passes above Manila. At night, relax with balut and taho from street vendors, or dance at beach bonfires. The Philippines’ intoxicating mix of smiles, sea breezes, and spirited celebrations sparks wanderlust in every traveler.
